Conditions We Care For

We provide care for children with a variety of acute illnesses, including but not limited to: Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), Pneumonia, Influenza (Flu), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Strep throat / Scarlet Fever.

We also support children who experience flare-ups of chronic conditions, such as: Asthma, Seizures, Diabetes ... and other conditions requiring temporary monitoring and care, including overnight assistance.

Additionally, Sickly Sitters offers care for infants who have experienced a Brief Resolved Unexplained Event (BRUE) within the past 72 hours. This includes monitoring infants who have had episodes of unresponsiveness, oxygen desaturation, or seizure-like activity. Newborns may also be booked for postpartum care if they were born prematurely or spent any time in the NICU.

Our Pediatric Healthcare Specialists

Our team is made up of sitters with a healthcare background and hands-on pediatric experience, including Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), and current nursing and medical students. All of our sitters are fully vaccinated, CPR and BLS certified, and skilled in caring for children with illnesses. Please note, if your child requires advanced care such as tracheostomy management or G-tube feedings, we recommend connecting with a home health service, as we do not offer Registered Nurse or Medical Doctor care. If at any time your sitter determines that your child’s condition requires urgent medical attention, they will notify you immediately and call for advanced care.
